Just gonna kill two birds with one stone
Let’s see -
I’ve always wanted to play Juri - SF’s first tae kwon do character, purple fireballs from the feets a la KOF, legs that could compete with Chun Li, and psychotic to boot. My affinity towards more rushdown and combo heavy characters kept me away from her 50/50 hybrid style of zoning and pressure, but I’ll probably go back and learn her. Holding fireballs is too much work =(
Interest in Cammy started with learning about the ‘tiger knee’ motion and her TK’d cannon strikes. Interest peaked when learned of Sako. Rushdown, check. Big combos, check. One of my pocket chars.
Always liked Sakura. Satisfying hit sound of her shouoken and the awesomely unique tatsu, Sakura’s got pretty long combos which are hard to land 100% of the time. Lacking in the damage department, but she’s fun.
Main squeeze. Forgot if I got a stick to learn Viper or learned Viper because of stick. Either way, totally worth it - damage is crazy (FFF), mixups/gimmicks on the verge of unfairness (totally ok with that, her defense and normals suck), and just a super cool character. And talk about combos - her super jump cancel ability is too much fun playing around with. I know I said charging Juri’s fireball is hard work, and although feinting with Viper is more exerting, I’d rather be pressing buttons.
Still got lots of room to improve. Finally Viper’s meterless FADC a few months ago, and worked on execution for Cammy and Sakura. Wanna start improving on footsies, setups, option selects, and reactions.
Sick works by Edwin Huang. Let’s hope to see that Viper colored soon. Check him out at his dA page and tumblr.
